Monsters H
Hawks are a bird of prey. Not
potent in combat, though capable of delivery a peck or using their claws, they
make excellent scouts, able to fly vast distances and see a very long way.
Because they are so agile and usually in the air, Hawks are very difficult to
hit, though they will likely die if struck! A hawk is typically equipped with
nothing.
The blood hawk is a huge bird of prey that, unlike its surface cousins, prefers to live in dark underground passages and caverns. They are powerful creatures, who can grow to have a wingspan of over twelve feet. Their preferred foods are cave rats and small monsters. Blood hawks will often attack adventurers who enter their territory. They do not seem to attack to eat them only to kill or drive them away.

Death
Hawks are large birds, related to the blood hawk, whom live underground, often
seeming to co-operate with Blood Hawks living nearby. The Death Hawk is very
clever for a bird. It often hoards small items of treasure in a similar manner
to a magpie. The feathers on the wings of this bird make a skull-like pattern,
thus the name. They are often kept as pets by folk who are trying to prove just
how nasty they are, for the Hawks are seen as a portent of death by many common
folk, thought this is a legend that seems to have no foundation in truth.
Demon
Hawk
A Demon Hawk is a 'normal' Blood Hawk into which a possessing demonic spirit has been summoned. The spirit is not all that bright, but it lends the already powerful bird an unnatural vitality and strength. These birds are very hostile and have the power to control other avians, making them do their will, which is generally dark. Demon Hawks are usually summoned by those who follow the demon lord Yain, thought it is not an uncommon ritual for others to do. A demon hawk is typically equipped with nothing.
Headhunters
are a particularly wicked form of undead which are known to infest areas that
were once the scene of public executions. Speculation that they are the
restless spirits of long-term executioners, or possibly their victims, is not
substantiated but seems likely. The creatures are very large humanoids whose
bodies are strangely semi-transparent, although their touch and blows are all
too real. Headhunters attack with a spectral axe which delivers 'cold' damage.
They are notoriously hard to kill, seeming to always get up again and rejoin
the fight. A necromancer using a spinal staff can summon headhunters.

Hobgoblins are simply unnaturally large goblins who tend to rule their weaker kin by sheer strength. Some venture, that hobgoblins may be goblins with ogre or troll blood somewhere in their line.

The Darcen Hobgoblins rule an area of the Mor Kas Ah, which was once the underground ruins of the fortress of the Duke of Kas, it is believed they are descendant of the original slaves kept there. Now they have their own set religion based around a glowing silvery helmed figure and follow the laws and rules of the Duke of Kas. They are still Evil creatures who attack adventurers on sight, but many say this is because they have something to hide.
Darcen Executioners
Darcen Executioners are often the most powerful fighters of the entire realm. The Darcen have perfected a way of capturing undead so they can be peacefully put to rest. It is the task of the Executioners to do this. It is a dangerous job, which often gives then the appearance of having considerable power against the undead. Darcen Executioners are typically equipped with Ornate Leather and Executioner’s Axes.

Homonculii look very much like tiny people (but are
actually not living beings as we know them at all). They are summoned to serve
magicians in some shape or
form. It is believed that they come from an alternate
dimension where thoughts can take on physical shape. Thus, each homonculus is
different, being the physical embodiment of one of its creator's thoughts. The
most common type on Homonculus is the Pi, which has the appearance of a tiny
woman. Although they are poor in combat, being weak and nervous, their small
size makes them very difficult to hit. Furthermore, a Humonculus can 'phase
out' of our dimension entirely, making them impossible to hit with normal
attacks, but rendering them unable to interact with the real world until they
phase back in again. If its master ever dies, the homonculus also dies.
Homonculii cost 1 GP per turn upkeep. If this cost ever fails to be met, the
Homonculii dies. The order 'U 1' phases a homonculus in and out. (Player’s
Notes: Phasing a Pi Homunculus resets its last teleport marker.)
Hordling
Only a fool would fail to take the threat of a hordling seriously. The hordling is a small round ball of fur with huge sad eyes. The hordling appears harmless, even cute and innocent, but in actuality, they are far more dangerous. The hordling conceals razor sharp teeth that fill their large mouths beneath their fur. Although they do not pose much of a threat alone, when found in a horde they can strip a humanoid bare of flesh in seconds. One other attribute of hordlings is that they never forget. If you kill one, legend says that your likeness is communicated to all of its fellow hordlings. This makes you a target any time you meet others. Perhaps it would be less of a concern if the furious little beasts were not so damn easy to kill. They drop nothing.

truth of that is lost to time. A Giant Hornet is equipped with nothing.
