EQUIPPABLE TO OVER_BODY

Azure Robe (?)

This deep blue robe is a magnificent garment which catches the light and sends it refracting out in a myriad of directions. For this reason, it makes the wearer very hard to hit! In addition, the enchantments upon it protect against all sorts of dark magic. It looks really swish, too. Minimum of 14 intelligence and Wisdom is needed to equip it. (Player’s Note: Besides its defensive bonuses, still currently unknown, player’s report that it adds +1 to all of the wearer’s statistics. See ‘Treasures of Bereny’ page 20.)

Blue Cloak (?)

These light blue cloaks mark the wearer as being a servant of the crown, specifically a member of the Bereny Army who has been assigned to patrol the roads of the country and to keep them safe. It is an outlawing offence for anyone else to wear these cloaks, though they may be carried and handed in at a traders for a reward.

Cotton Robe (?)

I looked at the fine, well made cotton robe. It would cover a person neck to ankles and has a hood: warm, it is also a fine looking and moderately expensive garment. Player’s Note: A cotton robe can be purchased at a tailor shop in most cities for 15gp using the order ‘B 992 0’. It grants +1 to appearance when equipped.

Crimson Cape (?)

It is said that in some strange foreign countries royalty may only wear the color Crimson. Although this is not the case in Bereny, the color Crimson is associated with wealth and power. This is probably why the Crimson Capes were first created. A rare magical item, the crimson cape grants its owner an additional point of Appearance. Lords, ladies and wealthy merchants are often known to purchase them to increase their influence in Court.

Emerald Cloak (?)

I looked at the jewel cloak. Numerous of these cloaks, which are colored to match the jewels they are named for, were made in Kyr by an unnamed mage some years ago. A rich merchant brought back huge numbers of these in a single caravan, investing all of his capital in these enchanted items. The caravan was raided by orcs and the cloaks stolen, the merchant going bankrupt. These cloaks have various powers which can only be determined by putting on the garment. Player’s Notes: A conflicting report has come in with a 17 for magical defense. This will be investigated further.

Fur Cloak (?)

I looked hard at my fur cloak. A rough looking item of clothing, the fur cloak is just a number of small animal hides stitched together. Warm and slightly protective, the cloak is a useful article of clothing particularly when in the Southern parts of Bereny. It does tend to smell a little if it gets wet though.

Pit and Dire Goblin Warlocks have been seen wearing the Goblin Warlock Robes on the few occasions they have been noticed. A Warlocks robes are small, being goblin sized, and only Warlocks and their kin may wear them. The robe is resistant to cutting, fire and cold, however, and thus if worn does give reasonable protection.

Ladies Fur Cloak (?)

I examined the ladies fur cloak. It is a thick garment made of good heavy material and the fur of what was once a most beautiful creature. Designed to cover the body and head for warmth and protection it is also very beautiful. However, it is definately in a female cut and can only be worn by female characters. Player’s Note: As soon as possible, the item will be equipped by a female character to see if the investigated defensive bonuses match with its true defensive bonuses or if there are any other benefits.

Rat Skin Cloak (1738)

These cloaks were clearly made by someone who loves rats … or was short of leather! Made entirely from the filthy pelts of dungeon rats, the boots are warm and comfortable … but smell awful. Sequin Cloak (?)

I took a look at my Sequin Cloak. This article is a light, cotton cloak that has been adorned by a massive number of small sparkling sequins. It must have been made for a fancy dress party or for someone who really wanted to get noticed. Whatever its origin, the sequins seem to help deflect magical attacks for some reason. It's doubtful you'll find a barbarian wearing one of these! (Recently, adventurer’s report that a sequin cloak also provides +3 to fire defense. Any additional reports confirming or denying this will be appreciated.)

Silhouette Cloak (?)

I looked at the Silhouette Cloak. This tattered looking cloak is made of many pieces of what appear to be black silk, sewn together in a ragged pattern such that they trail out behind the wearer and waft around as the wearer moves. The cloaks are made by shadow thieves. It takes some effort of will to put one on as they make the wearer most uncomfortable and the voices of the folk the shadows belong to whisper constantly to the wearer. To those who can wear them they are very useful, making the wearer hard to see (and thus raising normal defense) and giving good protection against cold. They do, however, make the wearer look suspicious and other folk will feel uncomfortable around them. Player’s Note: Appears to cause a –3 drop in appearance while equipped.

Void Cloak (?)

I took a look at the Void Cloak. It is made of a light material, which I think is some kind of silk. It is pitch black in color but, as the cloth moves, seems to shimmer with what almost look to be stars. Void Cloaks are made by the Midnight Elves to facilitate travel through the void: the cloak protects against the cold and insanity of that place. The cloak grants protection against all forms of cold, as well as giving a little protection against magic. It does make a wearer more vulnerable to fire. Adventurer’s report that Void Cloaks can be found on Midnight Elf Astromancers.

Waxed Cloak (?)

I took a look at my Waxed Cloak. It is made of heavy cotton and is typical of the rainproof cloaks worn by the inhabitants of Lux. The cloak has had wax melted into the material that allows liquids to drip off it rather than be absorbed. Unfortunately this has the added effect of making the cloak less resilient to fire. If you wear one of these cloaks, don't stand too close to the fire or you may get hotter than is healthy!

Woolen Cloak (36)

Although a cloak is not strictly armor, the benefits it provides can not be laid aside. They are, simply put, better protection from the elements, namely heat or cold. This protection is bestowed because the cloak covers the body and head for protection.
