Enchanted Lace Garters are magical devices originally commissioned by rich land barons from famous mages and artificers. Wanting to be sure of their daughters’ safety in times of War when they could not necessarily be present to protect them, the fathers paid hefty sums for these rare prizes. The garters, while not to the fathers’ tastes, were fashionably attractive, in red lace, white satin or black silk, to appeal to the girls’ vanity to encourage them to wear them often. The garters, when worn magically enhance the wearers health score by 15. This can be dangerous though. If the garters are removed, the health drops again immediately, possibly resulting in death if the wearer is injured already. In later times, adventures began using the garters for their obvious value. The magic works for men too, but with the obvious ludicrous or suspicious overtones applicable.

Embroidered Pantaloons (?)

I took a look at the embroidered pantaloons. They are of a dark cloth, but worked all over with designs of curved knives, chains and leering faces. To most folk, this is incredibly offputing and they would never wear them. Assassins thrive on these images, however and have been trained to ignore them. Wor in combat an opponent will be confused and off put by the myriad swirling images and find it harder to strike the assassin. Usually they are recovered from dead Hyusarik, a clan of demon worshipping assassins. Bereny assassins are trained to use the pantaloons, though nobody in Bereny seems to know how to make them. Traders will not deal in these items, by royal decree.

Tartan Kilt (?)

A Tartan Kilt is a magical item created by mages from another land. About forty years ago, they were a quite commonly imported good. Changing fashion trends meant burly fighters were less keen to wear what amounted to a skirt! Even so, a few of the enchanted kilts can still be found. A wearer must have at least a 10 Willpower. When worn it grants the wielder +1 Willpower and +1 Dexterity at the cost of –5 to defense against cold attacks.

I took a look at the woollen trews. Made form decent wool, these trews are warm and comfy, if a little scratchy. Player’s Note: Woollen Trews can be purchased at a Tailor, in most cities, for 5gp using the ‘B 990 0’ order. Player’s Note 060429: A more recent investigation revealed: ‘These are trousers made from cotton with a cheetah colouration. They are extremely flash, ostentatious in the extreme.’ It is unknown if these trews offer different benefits than the previously investigated ones.
