EQUIPPABLE TO FINGER

Azurite Ring (440)

An Azurite Ring is a beautiful silver band into which is set a perfect Azurite. While the rich consider such jewellery as little more than trinkets, they are often worn by lesser nobles or even wealthy commoners. Azurite Rings are one of the most common wedding bands chosen by young couples and they are also favored by female crusaders of Marial, since the Azurite is mentioned many times as a holy stone in the Book of Marial. Player’s Note: No observable benefits for equipping the ring. Will attempt to have a Crusader of Marial trying wearing the ring in the future. It has been reported that Azurite Rings can be purchased at a courtyard or magical trader using the order ‘B 440’ at a cost of 97gp.

Black Ring (?)

I had a look at the black ring. It is, in fact, a silver ring, heavily tarnished with age. I polished it up a little to reveal that it has a delicate pattern on it, as if it were woven from grass that had somehow been turned to silver. I feel that it would fetch a good price at market: it would be very attractive when properly cleaned. (Note: No visible effect when equipped.)

Bloodless Ring (?)

I looked at the Bloodless ring. This plain silver ring has a single small bloodstone set on the inside ... which is a little odd. The bloodstone has been cut to a point: I

think it would cut my finger if I put it on. I suppose the only real way to find out what it does is to wear it ...

Bloody Eye Ring (?)

This ring carries the symbol of the Bloody Eye, a stylized eye with the image of blood dripping from it. As I looked at it, I saw a minute amount of blood form in the ring and drop to the floor, the image of the eye is quite large and it looks almost as if it were meant to be used as a signet ring, to place a mark in wax, or some other substance. Traders will not deal in this item, fearing the curses of the Anubians.

Chieftain’s Ring (?)

I examined the ring. A plain iron ring, these were made before the time of Thunder by victorious warriors. When a foe was defeated an iron ring would be made from one of their weapons. Some of these rings were enchanted, and these are the ones that have survived to the present day. Iron is proof against magic and the ring will add to magical resistance. Some also have other properties.

I had a look at the dented ring. It would appear to be made of tin, with a cut glass stone set in it. Clearly, as items of jewelry go, this one is extremely cheap.

Heavy Silver Ring (?)

I looked at the heavy silver ring and hefted it in my hand. Fairly big, it was probably made for someone larger than a human, an orc perhaps, though it appears unlikely it would suit the taste of orcs! The ring has a small, rather dirty, gemstone set in it but is otherwise plain. It is probably worth a good price at market.

Jlandu Grass Ring (?)

A Jlandu Grass Ring is a small band worn on the finger of natives and tribal folk who live in the Jungles of the Frontier. Made from dried grasses, soaked in tree sap and wound tightly, the rings are actually rather strong and durable. Native mystics claim that while worn, the ring wards off evil spirits and protects the wearer from dark magic. The truth of this, of course, depends on your personal beliefs.

Ring of Protection +2 (?)

Ring of Protection +5 (13)

Ring of Protection +10 (123/721)

Ring of Protection +12 (720)

Rings of Protection are magical artifacts much sought by adventurers, monsters and nobles across the land. They are incredibly valuable since their enchantment increases the defense capability of the wielder by magically making them harder to hit in combat with sleight of eye and minor illusionary enchantments. Depending on the plus of the ring, be it +2, +5 etc….it grants a bonus to all defense ratings of an equal amount.

Ring of Tisbehelne (?)

The magical Ring of Tisbehelne is given to those who are loyal servants to the Goddess of Debauchery and lust, Tisbehelne. As one of the 947 Dark Gods Tisbehelne cares for nothing by pure, selfish pleasure in any form and at any cost. These rings increase the allure of those who wear them, though at a cost.

Ring of Zor (?)

It is said that in the Early Times the demon lord Zor led a horde of creatures from the rift to invade the devil-lands beyond the veil. The terrible war between demon and devil waged for a thousand and nine years before Zor fell to Octolis the Charnal, the guardian of the Land of the Dead. His magical blade and ring plunged into the river Styx and was swept away in those dark currents. Since then they have resurfaced several times, usually with ominous portent. This is one of those times ... Player’s Note: Along with the defensive bonuses below, the following bonuses were discovered upon a character equipping the ring: +87 health, 2 Damage Reduction, and +11 Intelligence.

Silver Tongue Ring (?)

I examined the ring. It is made of silver and bares [sic] the crest of the (now defunct) Poldoon Trading Company. These rings were made for that company's merchants to use and the magic of the ring grants the wearer great eloquence. Sadly, the existence of the rings was not kept secret and when they became known nobody would trust a trader of the company again, and it went bankrupt. (Player Notes: Adventurer’s report that the ring grants +1 to appearance.)

Steadfast Ring (?)

A Steadfast Ring is a magical trinket which, legend has it, was created by a powerful elven sorceress of the Deep Woods in the north. Its purpose is to aid a human warrior ally during the Great War. Although not as common as they were during that time, it can still be found and is much prized by adventurers. When equipped, it grants the wielder +10 Health. This can be dangerous though. If a Steadfast Ring is removed, the wielder’s health drops immediately, possibly resulting in death if the wearer is injured already. The magical power of the Steadfast Ring will allow it to be equipped only by characters with at least a 12 Willpower. This was originally built into the trinket to prevent it ever falling in to lesser demon hands.

Teslis Ring (?)

I slipped the Teslis Ring upon my finger ... at exactly the same moment as I realized where I had heard of them before! Teslis was a trickster mage...he made enchanted items that did bad things to the wearer and scattered them for adventurers to find. Quickly, I pulled at the ring to remove it...but too late! The ring was stuck fast upon my finger, its magical grip tight enough to make the flesh throb and burn. I was stuck with the damn thing...and already I could feel it sucking at my strength...stupid! My only chance lies in the old legend that a Teslis Ring can be removed by dipping it into a natural pool of fresh shallow water. If you should find a shallow water square, standing in it and issuing the order "X 467 0" will have your character attempt to remove the ring by way of the ancient legend. The ring reduces the wearer’s –4 Strength.

X 467 0

Hoping the old legend was true I dipped my hand into the shallow water. Immediately, I felt great relief as the band loosened and my finger was free once more.

Staring down into the water I watched the silver metal dissolve in a cloud of dust and sparks. Good riddance!

Thin Silver Ring (?)

Though lacking in metal content, the ring is delicately made, with a small ruby chip set in it, surrounded by three small quartz chips. It is pretty and probably, worth a few gold.

Wedding Band (?)

A Wedding Band is a simple ring of gold, which is worn to signify the unity of two people in holy matrimony. In a ceremony carried out by a Priestess the two are bound together with leaves and branches. When they break free of the natural bonds they place the rings upon each other's fingers to signify the beginning of their passage of a life as a couple. Weddings of this type are common amongst humans. Barbarians and Dwarves also marry and use rings, although the ceremony differs for each. Elven matrimony works in a different way and it is rare for them to follow the human custom, although it does occasionally happen.

The Wolf Ring (?)

A Wolf Ring is a powerful magical item dating back to before the time of the Great War. Its origins are with the shadowy peoples who lived in the darkness and eternal twilight of Demon rule. A Wolf Ring is a gold band engraved with the likeness of a dark wolf upon its face. When worn it grants its wielder +18 to Health. This can be dangerous though. If a Wolf Ring is removed, the health drops immediately, possibly resulting in death if the wearer is injured already. The ring’s magical power allows it only to be equipped by those with at least a 12 Willpower.
