This tome covers the processes involved in the creation of animates. It is very technical and can only be really understood by Alchemists. Alchemists can use this book to learn the skill 'Advanced Animance', which allows them to build animates of a more powerful nature The order to learn this skill, which requires a copy of this book, is 'X 4334 0'. The cost is 5000 xp and 2000 gold, 1000 xp for a failure and there is a 50 percent chance of success. The skill of Animance is required to learn this skill, as well as the Book of Animance. The book contains a great deal of reference material. It is needed as a reference work for advanced animate manufacture (you must keep the book to use the skill). To look through the book and get some more details on how to create animates use the order 'U 4334 0'.
I do not have the skill of Advanced Animance most of this tome makes no sense to me at all.
LEAD LEGS
This is a body part, which has been made
by an alchemist to fit to an animate. To do this, the part needs to be given to
the animate and they then 'equip' it exactly as if it were an item. Animates
may not remove such body parts, but there are ways it can be done. The exact
effects of each individual type of body part can only really be discovered by
experimentation: fitting it to an animate and seeing what difference it makes.
An animate may not equip other items to a location once a body part has been
fitted, but as an animate has a 'frame' even before parts ore fitted, it can
use other equipment in a location where no body part is.

Paut is a magical substance which contains the essence of life. It is produced in Kyr by certain eastern alchemical processes known only there and which use herbs and rare earths which are available only there. Bereny alchemists have not, as yet, had any luck in producing Paut. Paut is used in all sorts of alchemical operations that try to create life, whether the 'artificial' life of Animates or the more natural one of Homonculi. Either way, the use of Paut is explained to those who have mastered the skills to use it.

This is a mould used by alchemists in the creation of 'body parts' for animates. In order to use the mould one must issue the order 'X' followed by the code for the mould (listed below) followed by the code for the 'animate material' (gained from examining the material) in the third box. For more information, refer to the book of animance and investigate all items involved. The codes for the moulds are: Head (3084), Torso (3085), Legs (3086), Feet (3087), Rt arm (3088), Lft arm (3089).
